I’m Michael O’Sullivan, the maker behind Handmade by Michael. I began working with leather in 2020, drawn to a craft rooted in history—one shaped by generations of artisans long before the rise of modern industry.
What started as a way to slow down and step away from the noise of everyday life became something much more meaningful. Leathercraft offered a connection to tradition, to patience, and to the quiet satisfaction of making something by hand. In a world increasingly defined by speed and disposability, I found myself drawn to a process that values time, care, and intention.
Each piece I create is entirely handcrafted using traditional tools and techniques. From the first cut to the final stitch, every step is done with purpose, respecting methods that have remained largely unchanged for centuries.
